There is a kind of tradition for Realme to publish master editions of its flagship products. These are more premium versions of its phones where the brand can present different materials and an overall more premium design. Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa has again been commissioned to create the two new phones combining Realme GT Master Edition and GT Master Exploration Edition.
The design inspiration for the two new devices comes from the suitcases with striated patterns with soft-touch leather. There are also more traditional versions with frosted glass backs.
The GT Master Exploration Edition comes with a 6.55-inch curved Super AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The regular Master Edition returns to a 6.43-inch flat panel that again uses the Super AMOLED variety and sports a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Both phones also contain 32MP selfie cameras and fingerprint scanners under the screen.
On the back, we have slightly different camera configurations with the Exploration Edition featuring the Sony IMX766 50MP main sensor with OIS. It is joined by a 16MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro camera.
The vanilla model opts for a 64 MP main shooter next to an ultra-wide macro camera of 8 MP and 2 MP. The chipset department also has some differences with the Exploration edition relying on the Snapdragon 870 while the standard model gets a Snapdragon 778G instead. Ram varies between 8 and 12 GB while storage is 128 or 256 GB.
As for the battery, we have a 4,500 mAh cell on the Exploration Edition while the vanilla model sticks to a slightly smaller capacity of 4,300 mAh. Both charge at 65W via the supplied SuperDart charger.
Realme GT Master Edition is available in gray, white and gradient. The price starts at 2,399 CNY ($370) for the 8/128 GB model while the 8/256 GB version costs 2,599 CNY ($400).
Realme GT Master Exploration Edition is available in gray and apricot. It starts at CNY 2,799 ($432) for the 8/128 GB version and goes up to CNY 3,099 ($478) for the 12/256 GB version. The first sales in China are scheduled for July 30.
