Welcome to our new video series, Flashback, where we take a look at the most significant moments and patterns in the history of the mobile phone. Many of you are probably already following the Flashback articles, now we’re also bringing small doses of nostalgia to our YouTube audience.
And what better place to start than with one of the most famous camera phones of all time, the Nokia 808 PureView, which we covered in a first installment of the Flashback series. Launched in 2012, the Nokia 808 sensor would not be surpassed in resolution for 7 years and in terms of pure size – until the beginning of 2021. It also holds the dark distinction of being the last Symbian phone made by Nokia.
Instead of relying solely on memories, we looked for a unit of work with which to play in front of the camera. The old girl looks rough on the edges, but her unique 41 MP camera is still as powerful as ever.
