Nokia files several lawsuits against Oppo for patent infringement

Nokia has filed numerous patent infringement claims against Oppo regarding SEP and non-SEP patents. These patents concern connectivity, interface and security features. Complaints are lodged on the European and Asian markets.

Oppo and Nokia signed a multi-year licensing agreement in 2018 and it appears that the contract is over. Nokia has issued an official statement that Oppo has rejected the contract renewal offer and has therefore had to take legal action as Oppo continues to use these patents. The Nokia spokesperson believes that there is still a more constructive way to deal with the situation.

Nokia, after all, has a lot of patents in its bag and has signed royalty agreements with Samsung, Apple, LG, Lenovo and even Blackberry.
