Oppo’s plans for 6G connectivity include a revolutionized use of AI by 2035

5G connectivity is currently the fashionable train that all companies are using, but some are already looking further into the future. We received a 6G white paper from Oppo in which the company reveals how it sees next-generation connectivity will affect our daily lives.

According to the document, the company believes the 6G network architecture “will reshape the way people interact with AI” and “become a true public service technology that can be used by anyone.”

An example given in the report is that autonomous vehicles, the golden hen of futuristic technology, will be able to assign “the most appropriate AI algorithm” and optimal communication based on the location of objects in the physical environment such as weather, pedestrians, etc. The vehicles will teach each other and offer the safest and most comfortable journey for the passenger.

Henry Tang, Chief 5G Scientist at Oppo, revealed that standardization is expected to begin in 2025 and that we should expect a commercial implementation around 2035. AI units are expected to far exceed the number of humans in the world, which means they will be able to communicate more easily and work together to create an environment that will meet the needs not only of people but of all forms of intelligence.

Les plans d'Oppo pour la connectivité 6G incluent une utilisation révolutionnée de l'IA d'ici 2035

The whole document is more like what an ideal world would look like with 6G, but at least Oppo has already put together a pre-research team to carry out 6G service and technology requirements, key technologies and system features.

There’s still a lot of work to be done, especially since we live in a world where 3G connectivity is widespread in many corners of the world (such as India and its 300 million users who have yet to migrate to LTE), but it’s good that companies are already looking to the future and planning for the inevitable future.
