vivo launched the Y53s 5G last month, and today the company announced its 4G counterpart, but it’s not just a 4G variant of the Y53 since the two smartphones have different spec sheets.
For starters, the vivo Y53s 4G is powered by the Helio G80 SoC, while the 5G model has a Snapdragon 480 chip at the helm. Plus, the selfie shooter has a megapixel bump – going from 8MP to 16MP – and the 64MP and 2MP macro main cameras on the back are now joined by a 2MP depth sensor.
The screen refresh rate has been reduced from 90 Hz to 60 Hz, but the battery charging speed has been reduced from 18 W to 33 W. On the software level, the smartphone runs Funtouch OS 11.1 based on Android 11 instead of OriginOS, the latter being currently exclusive to China.
The rest of the Y53s 4G’s features remain the same as that of the 5G model, which means you get a 6.58″ FullHD+ LCD display, 8GB (+3GB virtual) of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The vivo Y53s 4G also comes with a USB-C port, a dedicated microSD card slot and an advertised side fingerprint reader to unlock the smartphone in 0.24 seconds.
